I have nothing in my trunk. Just some little leaves from when I had it open and people were staring at how much room there was since nothing was in there.

~Cheers~

That would be schweet.. its probably a good idea to get new trunk strut assemblies(or are they springs?) if they are a little worn, just to get that auto trunk lift feature when you open it, because the solenoid will only "pop it open" but not lift it...right Kamlung?

well when it pops it, depending how heavy your trunk lid is (whether or not you have a spoiler)... a OEM lid without anything on/in it can possibly open by itself... if you release the trunk from inside the car does it open by itself??? this would be a good test???

as for me, i have so much filler and sound deadening material on my trunk lid, it is ridiculous... but yes they do sell those upgraded springs to help them open easier...

I was at the West Coast Acura Legend meet yesterday and one guy had the heavy duty sticks in there to offset the weight of the wing.

all u need is a relay... since the solenoid usually receives a positive signal but the alarm usually outputs negative for the Aux option... but check your alarm to make sure...

The solenoid is pretty cheap. I got mine at circuit city for like $20 at the back where they install car radios. You have to go there and ask for it.
It can be added to any alarm that has a free open channel.
The way you set it up, on the alarm brain, there should be a channel signal wire that gives off either a positive or negative volt when the button is pressed.
These wires give off low voltage so you cant use it to power the solenoid else it can damage the brain itself. Its meant to activate a relay. The relay will supply power to the solenoid, turning it on and off.

Also, you might need to convert the polarity depending on the polarity of the channel signal wire, and put fuse.

To help make the hood pop up better when I activate the solenoid, I JB weld a short spring under the trunk andclean the rubber seal once in a while.
goodluck.
