97 TL Disabling Theft System

Help please.
I've got a 97 TL 3.2 and love it but don't care to put any $$ in it.
The theft deterrent system has recently developed an issue. The alarm goes off sporadically but usually several minutes after I've turned off the ignition. I generally leave it unlocked.

Does anybody know how to totally disable the theft deterrent system?

u will find the OEM theft unit behind the glove box...
