Smile Polyurethane Motor Mount, What To Use?

Hi all I am a big fan of this site although this is my first post I have been reading for quite a while. I see many references to filling the infamous motor mounts with polyurethane. But I cant seem to find a post where anyone specifies which brand of sealant that they used and if it was successfull or not. If anyone could give me some details on what type they used and what type of ride it produced I would be verry greatful because I am getting tired of the engine bucking on me when I have to jump on it. I appreciate it everyone. Oh by the way I have a 98 model 2.5.

Well looks like I will just experiment and report my findings as to wether it works or not. I dont really have anything to loose by trying it the mount is no good anyway so if I do have a success I will deffinetly come out cheaper than buying that mount from Acura. If anyone has any sugestions I would really appreciate it thanks everyone.

60A hardness will give you much stiffer mounts without too much vibration. Use cardboard to sandwich the mount once you fill it with PU, and then peel/burn off the rest after letting it set for 5 days.

Thanks, not trying to be dull but where could I find something that specific? Because at all the home improvment stores websites none of the poly they have specifies a hardness level. I cant seem to locate any liquid form poly that seems to be at all helpfull from my search, only sheet and round stock formed. Thanks for your help.

You could use 3M Windo-Weld, as that's about 55A:

Price for a single tube is about $25. Which mounts are you going to do?

Thanks, I want to see what you think of this I found on Mcmaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/3629/=gg77rq the part number is 8644k24, but the guy said that lots of people use this stuff for mount making and love it. It is the fluid filled rear mount on the passenger side. The guy said you need 0.4 lbs per cubic inch and I haven't taken the mount out yet to see exactly how big it is but I think I'll need about 70 cubic inches for a rough estimate. How does that sound to you?

One can with activator should be enough to do a few mounts.

Also, are you sure your mount is bad? Most 2.5s that had issues with vibration problems ended up with an axle being the culprit.

It has the oil trail on the mount and the passenger side axle still has the nappa sticker on it so im pretty sure its the mount. But I will do the foot on the brake and shift through the gears trick to look for movement though thanks alot!
