OBD2 Universal Scanner Code Reader

Just purchased one of these code readers online to run some diagnostics on my 3.2 Ive had the car parked in storage for the last 2 years and took it out about a week ago and noticed at highway speeds the TL feels like its misfiring. I have a flashing CEL at high speeds. The car still runs fast but doesnt feel like its firing on all cylinders. Another thing I noticed was at traffic light and at startup the car shakes/vibrates alot. Lastly, the transmission doesnt shift as smooth out of park to D as it did previously. I have to use the key to get it from park to Drive. What could possibly cause that? Oh yea..one last thing.. where in the car is there a slot for the scanner to plug in to? I wanna get this car back up and running smoothly. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

Any one knows what could possibly be the cause of the rough idle at standstill?

Try giving it a tune up since it sat out for a long time. Your brakeswitch might be stuck, causing the transmission to not shift out of park.

CEL flashing means a misfire. It flashes to get your attention, if you keep driving it like that you could and will damage your cats.

thanx for your input. I will give it a tune up. The transmission being stiff to shift out of park really bothers me.

Thanks Sal. I wont be driving the car until I get the tune up done. I have a Honda civic to play with so it wont be a problem.

Can you point me to where the fuse may be located?

Just check the brake fuse. Usually what you can do is just turn the key forward a bit usually until when steering wheel unlocks. and before the dash lights up then pull it into neutral then and start it in neutral from there you can switch between reverse and forward till you place it in park again.
