Hi Guys,

I have a 98 3.2 TL. Just about in install an O2 sensor. OBD2 gave trouble code PO133, bank 1. Which side of the engine is bank 1?? Left or right?

Please get back to me.

Bank 1 should be the LH or driver's side O2 sensor.

good luck

Are you sure?

Hi Texas Honda, are you sure Bank 1 is on the drivers, left , side? I spoke to 4 different shops and they said its on the right , passenger side. Let me clarify, O2 sensor for Bank 1, sensor 1. The #1 cylinder is on the rt side. Are you possitive?

Thx

I have a disagreement between a standard OBD2 reference and Mitchell on Demand reference which says that P0133 is RH primary (ahead of catalytic converter). I earlier referenced the OBD2 manual which shows the LH side as Bank1 Sensor1 for a V6 or V8.

Sorry for the bum steer.

regards

No problem, just changed the o2 sensor on the rt hand side. Hopefully my MIL will stay off.....

Also, if you have a minute, I got another code P0401.....EGR Low Flow detected. I'm planning on taking my EGR apart and try to get to the pipes below (very tight) and clean it out with carb cleaner. Do you think I should trouble shoot anything else besides the EGR that might contribute to that code? Or should that turn off my code po401?

And....many thanks.

P0401 is insufficient EGR flow and almost always results from blockage of the EGR passsages from the EGR to the intake manifold and the ports where EG enters the intake manifold. EGR itself is rarely blocked. If the 3.2 has a EG distribution manifold, you need to remove this clean, and clean the ports where EG manifold mounts to intake manifold.

High NOX will usually result from loss of EGR flow and you won't be able to pass an emissions test.

good luck
