Fuel Injection flush

I went to get my Auto tranny flush yesterday, and the guy told me I should do a fuel injection flush and change the fuel filter also. He said it looks like it has never been done on this car, bought used at 138,000km.

He said it would smooth out the engine, regain top performance and might give better fuel milage. Is this necessary and are his statement true? it's not a cheap maintenance. over $200 canadian with an oil change.

I had it done. The mechanic used this 3M product system that forced the fluids through the fuel injectors, and cleaning the pistons, and etc...

It cost me around $160-$170 with labor. I very much enjoyed the results. I felt quicker acceleration, less hesitation, definately better fuel mileage. I had mine done around 130K also. If you got the cheeze to spare, it's worth it if you're going to hold onto the car, it definately adds life in my opion.

yes mine included a new filter. And i got it done at 103,000. But it made a considerable differance. After they got done they took my car and brought it to the side of the shop and reved it up about 10 times and it just spit out tons of black smoke. Just showing me that it actually did something. Performane as well as gas mileage has increased since i have had this performed i recomend it.

Sounds like they did some damage by the sounds of that black smoke...j/k. :p

....I should probably get to that done to my car; just about at the 140k mark.

Good to hear that! These engines, especially the 3.2's were designed to last at least 300,000 miles

I got my fuel ignition flush done today, CAN$150, also my driver's side wiper arm was loose, the body shop tighten it back up for me. did this happen to anyone? the TL was all frozen, covered with ice the pass few days.

I will test the car tomorrow and let you guys know how it feels after both the transmission and fuel ignition flush.

Guys, I know fuel injection flushes sound good and can help a car that has been neglected with crap gas and never being beaten on, but they BURN OUR O2 sensors!! Every car I've had has had to have O2 replaced after any kind of injector cleaning, etc. Just be ready for it!!
