2.5TL cone filter product#

for those of you who have just the cone filter on your stock 2.5 TL Intake. could you tell me the brand and model number, so I won't accidently get one that is too big to fit?

will any "regular" cone shape should fit alright?

most regular cone filters with a 2'' inlet will fit, i have a 3" inch inlit and it fits on the MAFS fine but its tight and u have to tighten the clamp really tight a 2" will fit. I recomend a K&N of some type.

i got an universal K&N 3" by 6" length cone filter today. it is just an inch too long. I am going to take it back to exchange. There are not many choices here, I will have to take the reactive one which is half the price and shorter in length. That will fit and it'll have to do, unless they will give me a refund.

anyway, the 2 bolts connecting MASF to the stock filter cover was hard to take off with a standard wrench, there's this stupid little plastic thing there blocking my way, i had to hack it off.

other than that, it will be an easy install. did you guys remove the base of the stock air filter box? i don't see how i can, is it stuck on good to something? I couldn't see, I did this all at night with street lights

here's a pic after i put the reactive cone filter in. As you can see, the base of the stock filter is still there. did you all removed your base?

the person who sold it told me that I have to oil the filter first, i forgot to do it and was too lazy to take it back out. Is it a problem? Also when resetting the ECU, i just unplug the battery after i put in the filter for a minute then put it back, will that do the job?
