Front rotor removal problem

I was going to replace the pads and wanted to get the rotors turned.

However, I could not remove the 2 screws holding the rotor in. PB blaster and all but still just do not want to unscrew.

Need help and suggestions.

Try using different screwdriver head sizes and sounds crazy but try tightening it and then loosening it just might work.

Spray some WD40 and tap on the center with a rubber mallet. They should come lose.

Where do I spray the WD40? I had PB blaster on the screws. Tap on the center of the rotor?

I also put in 2 bolts into the bolt holes, still will not budge.

I will try the tapping. Patience. That's what I need. I have tried every imaginable way to loosen that screw. I actually bought an impact wrench for this purpose when I did my CRV door latch actuator change. But did not need it, I was able to use brute force, but the screws are bigger, too.

The rotor screws are so tiny and will end up being rounded.

I will try the tapping....

The 98 has rotors above the hubs I believe, so the 2 screws are all that holds the rotor in place once lug nuts are removed. My understanding is these screws are not necessary and may be drilled out. Once screw heads are drilled off, you can remove the rotor and extract the stubs w/ vise grips or leave them in place if they won't back out. No need to replace.

good luck

that won't happen if you use the correct size screwdriver bit. I've removed screws that were borderline stripped without any issues.

That's my plan B. Thanks. In due time, I shall remove the rotors.
