engine swap
engine swap
Does anybody know if the 3.0 engine from a 2000 CL would fit in the body of the 2.5?
I am thinking of an engine swap, but i like my bodystyle. If they had mods for this engine(2.5) I'd keep it.

I think a small block chevy would fit in the car... only thing is that you'll have to customize all of the mounting points and the tranny etc... and reinforce the chassis... then again, i'm just crazy...
... Good luck on the swap...
Anything can be done for the money like Spooky said.
Having said that, I would say it would be uneconomical to put in a CL engine. The J series engines are all designed to be transversely mounted. Our cars have longitudinally mounted engines.
Your money is better spent on a custom turbo job or something.

I said that??? ... ... ... cool... lol... i didn't even know... but yeah... Money talks... and the more you have the louder it is... and i agree with wackjum... your money is better spent on a custom turbo... have fun swaping though... let us know how it goes...

HOWEVER... with enough cash and a very ugly and custom frontend, its possible.
This is reminiscent of discussions that often come up on the Legend forums. People always want to drop an NSX block into a Legend because one is called C32 and the other is a C32A.
NSX is midmounted and rear wheel drive.
Drops like a B18 into a Civic are nothing. Both engines are transverse front wheel drive. Integra is just a glorified Civic anyway.
Back in the olden days of hot rodding (certainly before my time, I just hear about them from my grandpappy), cars could swap engines easily. Cars were basically metal bodies with tires. The had none of the computers and such of today's stuff, and they were all rear wheel drive.

I think (I might be wrong on this one) that because of the different engine bay dimensions you might be out of luck. Nearly EVERYTHING from the windshield forward is different in the 5 cylinder TL's.
Perhaps someone with an Acura Vigor has done a 6 cylinder swap.. I just dont know.
