Eibachs and BIG sub boxes - WHo's got it?!

OK guys, need some info from people with Eibachs Pro kit springs and big systems in their trunks. I just replaced the rear tires on my 18's last night and they are rubbing, and the springs aren't even installed yet!! This is nuts. I have a HUGE box in my trunk, so the ass end already sits lower than it should that is my question. For those of you with Eibachs AND systems who had the SYSTEM first. Did putting the Eibachs on actually lower the rear a lot from where it was laready lowered to with the system? I am hoping that the back end won't actually drop that much cause the new springs are stiffer so that should help even though they are a bit shorter. My rims have a friggin 45 offset so they REALLY shouldn't be rubbin without the springs on yet!!! Let m eknow guys, thanks. Otherwise out comes the baseball bat.....

Thank you and have a nice day.

I had the box first and yeah it does lower the back a bit. I would suggest "shaving" your fenders. I say shaving because its plastic back there and you cant roll it so you will have to dremel it off. That what i did. I have 18x7.5 +48 with 225/40 18s and no rub. I had 225/35 19s on before and it rubbed but im pretty sure it was due to the offset of the wheels (+40)

Not sure what you mean, the back fenders certainly are NOT plastic, they are metal. There is a RUBBER gasket which overlaps the metal, but the only plastic part is at the back where the bumper is. I will be rolling them this weekend in order to attempt to make the rubbin stop! Have to, esp. since lowering it next week!

I never got a chance to do it yet!! Started CLEANING the cars (mine and g/f's) and ended up waxing, doing the whole job so I'm just going to take it in this friday to the shop and have it done. Only $80, so not too bad. Save me the grief and these guys have the tool, so less likely to crack the paint. Either way when it's done I am going to silicone where the lip meets the inner fender to keep water from collecting in there and starting a rust factory.

Yes, but it's from my '98 teg. fit that car ok with the setup I had on that thing. Now I gotta totally re-do my trunk to make it look good for the TL. Those damned strut's in the trunk are such a PITA!!!

if you're ever going to redo the box, make the box out of baltic birch. It cost a bit more than MDF, but it's a whole lot lighter.
