Crankshaft rotation
Crankshaft rotation
Facing the engine from the front, is crankshaft rotation clockwise ? 96 TL 2.5 inline 5 cyl. Thank you. I'm replacing the timing belt. Odo says 170k mi. and no maintenance records. New purchase. RP
crankshaft rotation
From other sources it appears the rotation is clockwise facing the engine.
Update-----Replacing the belt: When you have the radiator and fans removed you have room to address the crankshaft bolt.
From watching the videos of others, using the crank tool is a MUST. See: Honda crank tool. It fits inside the pulley. Brace it with a 1/2 inch breaker or ratchet.
The bolt is 19mm. Use a 1/2 in drive 6 point socket and a 3 in extension. NOTE: Use of a 1/2 in to 3/8 in reducer and a 3/8 drive socket will result in breaking the reducer.
Use a 1/2 in drive breaker of about 18 in to 2ft. Add extra pipe of about 1 in diameter as needed for extra leverage.
TO be continued.
