Car Noise

Hello All,

I've been meaning to ask this for a while now, but every time I start my car ('97 3.2TL) and I start moving, I hear this 2 second motor noise coming from the car. It always happens after I start moving from startup and never happens again. It sounds like some kind of motorized part adjusting itself. Does everyone else get this as well and what is it?

Thanks in advance,
Slagboy.

It's not a creak or something due to age, it's sounds more like something automated or a process it goes through when the car is started. I would imagine it occurred starting from day 1 of the car's life. I'm not complaining, just asking out of curiosity. Geez...

I'm beginning to think that noise is normal. When I blew my ABS fuse and the ABS light came on, the noise stopped completely. After about 6 months I realized it was just the fuse and replaced it, once I started the car, I heard that noise for about 10 seconds. My bro is a mechanic and was in the car with me. He said its the ABS pump or something. It only does it when the car sits for a while right? I think its normal so don't stress it.

I hear it too. I'm pretty sure its normal because I've heard it since I got the car.. I thought it had something to do with the ac though but abs works too

Definitely not the AC. Like I said, with the ABS fuse blown for about 6 months I didn't hear it even once. So yeah its safe to say its the ABS pump. Don't stress.

Yeah, it's a buzzing noise coming from underneath and it only occurs when the car is first started. Thanks to everyone who replied! It's good to know that others are getting the noise as well. Had no idea it was the ABS.

Peace!
Slagboy.
