The a/c vent next to the window on the driver side of mine broke...but only bc I tried to take apart my dash to change out a bulb. I also have a broken vent on the passenger side b/c....well I have no clue how it broke. I share the car with siblings and of course they all blamed it on each other. A few weeks ago, I saw another 1st gen at a light and just glanced inside and noticed their vent on the passenger side also broke! When I saw this, I had the biggest grin evar! Not b/c the lady's vent broke but b/c I know I am not the only one =P

Anyone else broke any of their a/c vent?! (c'mon, sign in so I won't be the only one! LOL)

 

Yeah, the end ones on mine, or at least the drivers one/ones, I'm not sure, but, they aren't quite right, oh well though, I typically leave them in one position anyways.

 

mine work fine but whenever i turn on the AC it smells funky...

 

My entire interior smells funky, it has this weird stale/trash sort of smell, but not always, only some of the time. I know there is a problem with the cowl drains, and I think that is part of it, and once the weather warms up, all the seats are coming out and the carpets are getting shampooed.

 

yeah i was driving and the ac vent on the passenger side fell off and i cant get the damn thing back together because the clips are broken

 

yea the passenger side one on my dads is broken...mine is fine tho (knock on wood)

 

YES! lol so this is an issue

Unsane: try turning on your heater for about 3 minutes..full blast and see if the funk goes away. that smell is the mildew built up inside. See if that works.

 

my driver side vent (closest to the window) is broken as well. Would cost around $220 i believe to get a whole new vent/dash part.

 

The funny thing is, my passenger side vent is broken. I took it in for an oil change at a local Acura dealership, and noticed it broken about 3 days later. It seems there are 4 clips on the vent tubing itself (2 which broke). Nothing you can do but place the outter vent cover 'cosmetically' on.

Oh well.

 

I broke the whole vent off when I did my reverse glow gauges (the fourth time I took it apart). Fixed it by using auto-goo, then used a few wraps of electrical tape to hold it. Re-installed the vent then two days later pulled off the tape with the dash still installed and it has been fine ever since!!!

EDIT: It was the clips I broke (same as everyone else I believe), thats' why I had to glue it.....

 

hehe, looks like electrical tape does the trick. I broke both the passenger side and the driver side vents and just taped them with electrical tape. no problems.

 

yea, the previous owner tried to half assed glue the vent on but the flappy aiming things are all screwed up. it pisses me off soo soo soo much

 

mine are broken too it came like that when i got it december of 03. oh well, its not that big of a deal

Mine are alllllll good... except for one of the slots... i put thos clip airfreshner things... that's a definate it just got loose with the dumb clip... quick fix... maybe later...

My left centre vent can only be in the left or right position (never in the centre of it's motion range), and it can't be in the middle vertically either. It snaps to one side (either left-down, left-up, right-down, or right-up). It seems like the plastic piece vertically inside is a bit too long! It seems pretty weird to me. Other than that NOTHING else is busted.

 

My middle vents had a little crack going along the upper edge and when I installed my reverse glows (which you may recall I f'd up) the whole center vent section broke off at the vents. That is my biggest pet peeve about my car because it is such an eyesore. IF YOU OR ANY ONE YOU KNOW HAVE THAT PIECE FOR SALE IN TAN, HIT ME UP AT honulea@hotmail.com SO WE CAN WHEEL AND DEAL!
