i have the same problem and i am absolutely clueless why this happens.
i'd have to say it's more like a whirring noise, though.

My light keeps coming on and off. I did a search in here to see if there was some major issue with it but I came up with nothing. Is this something to be concerned about? Is it costly to repair?

The abs wheel speed sensor may be interfering with the cogged rotor on the CV joint shaft end. My understanding is this would indicate a bearing or other problem w/ wheel assy. If you pull the wheel sensor and end is chewed up, this problem is confirmed. Might be time to have the suspension and bearing checked carefully.

good luck

hi, I'm a newbie here and I just got a 96 3.2 tl myself and also experiencing the same issue, the dealer said that it may be the modulator, maybe the accumulator, a sensor or the control unit, but I just wanted to check to see if it is just the wheel sensor. Where is it located and how would I check it? any help is greatly appreciated.

Thx

oh one last thing, I read on another forum that someone had actually taken a integra accumulator / modulator and had installed it directly to fit on a 96 3.2 tl. Can anyone confirm this? Instead of paying over $2200 for each, this may be an option so that we don't have to pay so much.

Wheel sensor plugs into a hole in the wheel hub assembly. A single bolt retains the sensor. Be careful w/ the wire support fixtures and connector.

Have you checked for what ABS codes are presented? This will tell you the likely source of your problem.

Check ebay for used ABS modulators or following link for used units from a local salvage yard. I use this to locate repair parts near me and follow up w/ phone calls.

Mine is weird, I get the same issue with the ABS coming on and off sometimes, but when I took it to the dealer, they said there was no error codes. They further tested it and said that they could not communicate with the ABS Control unit.
Anyone have any diagrams of where I could check to see if Wheel sensors are located so that I can see if I can clean it or remove anything that might be interfering with it? Thx for the help in advance.

ABS resets itself every time ignition is turned ON. If ABS light is not ON, then no codes are stored. If light is ON, then codes are stored and can be extracted by jumpering the Service Check Connector.

Wheel sensor plugs into wheel hub assy. It's only wire going to the wheel hub assy, so it's hard to miss w/ wheel removed.

good luck
