98 3.2TL Mirror Replacement on Ebay

I have a crystal blue metalic 3.2TL and the driver side mirror motor does not work. I have already changed out the switch in the dash and that did not fix it. The heater does work. I have found a mirror on ebay and the color looks close, but the guy says it is a silver mirror. I know it has heat in is, so I think that makes it a 3.2TL. Does anyone know if mirrors came in other colors close to the crystal blue metallic? I'd rather not buy it unless I knew it was the correct color, but I suppose if the price doesn't go too high, I could take a chance. Any help is appreciated.

Chris

Thanks, I may just buy it....

I see our color every once in awhile and it has always been my favorite for this car. I really like the 5-spoke directional wheels too. I always wanted one and found mine about 1-1/2 years ago. I think it is really a classic looking car. Mileage could be better and I wish it took the regular stuff instead of premium, but oh well....

u don't always have to put premium in.. i use plus and put in premium or ultra every once a month... and don't worry about the mileage.. i have seen our cars past 300k miles easy...

Actually, I was talking about gas mileage. I get about 22 mpg.

Well, the stupid check engine light is on anyway so I guess I could put cheaper stuff in it. The guys at the shop plugged in their computer and it says I need to replace the O2 sensor behind the catalytic converter. New its like $250. Yikes!

Yeah, I think Acura is required to do some emissions stuff for free (up to a certain number of years/mileage) due to government regulations. I got my fuel injector replaced for free because of it.

it is funny that i posted in this thread a year ago and today my driver side mirror crapped out on me... same exact car, color, and year... maybe it was a defect that year... so i guess i will have to look for a mirror... anyone know how i can test to make sure whether or not the motor is gone???

this morning the mirror would only move up and down.. then after a few seconds it totally crapped out... so the switch should still be okay???

anyone know what the heater element looks like??? i am pretty sure the heat is still good... i looked on ebay and they only have mirrors without heat... so if just the motor is dead, ill order that and install... next question is how do i take apart the mirror without shattering the glass...

the color doesnt really matter, you can always gut both mirrors and swap their internals

im not concerned about the color differences... but i still have to find a heated mirror... and i don't want to spend $250+... i dug up the schematics from the service manual so ill test the switch and motor when i have some time or it is warm out...

this morning i got into the car, the mirror moved left, then it moved right, then it died.. so

the heater thing is a thin plastic sheeet with flat metal strips in it.
if you look at the back of the mirror, it has 2 wires stick out of it.

the thing is, if try to you peel it off, it will cease to work because you're breaking the metal strips. so be careful.

when I modded mine, I use a relay and hook it up to the defogger, so everytime I defog, the heated mirror activates. pretty cool.
goodluck.
