96 TL rear caliper
Friends, my next project is replacing rear pads. Using a C clamp seems awkward to use
in compressing the caliper. Is there a simple way to do this ? It looks like a tool is available for
''loan'' at autozone. Recommendations appreciated. rp

From further reading including the forum; the piston screws into its recess. It isnt compressible in the normal way.
A tool from NAPA, while seemingly well designed, fails in use. It is aluminum and just wont stand the torque.

Auto Zone has a tool 57111 they ''loan''. You buy it and return it. It got the job done .
Regarding the tool; it is steel and has several adapters. The ''T'' handle is a bit under engineered
and I think the thread size could be coarser and stronger. (I'm not a tool maker), but I cant see why a critique
would be out of order. It is worth the effort to simply go get the tool and dispense with ''home remedies''.

If it gets the job done, that's good enough for most..
