VSA Issue
VSA Issue
Damn VSA light is on, internet said test switch by using continuity tester on first 2 terminals on left as your looking at the back of the switch. I get nothing, open circuit. I know it dont hurt to drive it with the VSA off, but still like to fix it. Been all over the internet and cant find a new switch. Mine is Cruise/VSA both horizontally mounted on left of steering column.
VSA Light issue
I have 3 RL's all with the VSA light on. 2 had brake work done, 2 had steering wheels removed and all of the work was done by me. I am still trying to figure it out. I was told I need a honda data reader to access the VSA issue.
DTC Indication
NOTE: This operation can also be done with the Honda PGM Tester.
1. Connect the SCS service connector to the service check connector (2P) under the glove box.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. The ABS indicator comes on for about 2 seconds and goes off. Then it will indicate the DTC.
NOTE:
• If the DTC is not memorized, the ABS indicator will go off for 3.6 seconds, and then come back on.
• If the ABS indicator stays on, troubleshoot for ABS indicator does not go off (see page 19-213).
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and remove the SCS service connector.
NOTE: The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will stay on after the engine is started if the SCS service connector is connected.

DTC Clearing
1. Press the parking brake pedal.
2. Push the VSA off switch, and hold it, then turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Hold the VSA off switch for 3 to 5 seconds, then release the VSA off switch.
4. After 3 seconds, the VSA activation indicator blinks 4 times. It means that the DTC is cleared.
5. If the VSA activation indicator stays on, replace the VSA modulator-control unit.

I just got my car and every time I bleed the brakes i got the VCS ABS lights on with DTC 98-1 and 84-1. I had to clear them as Old Hatch said but there is a good video on you tube that will show you since it can't be cleared with conventional code reader. The youtuber name is advanced Level Auto and it was done feb 3 ,2020. Very helpful to me. Now if I can just get my brakes firm even after bleeding them then I will be happy. This car is frustrating.
Its a 2002 RL. Just got it as the main relay was bad then the frozen caliper then I thought I bled it well but might just have to redo the master cyclinder as the guy I bought it from kept the interior and exterior clean but was negligent on maintenance.

As a DIYer I got stuck at the frozen caliper( replaced both fronts) and assumed it was just me bleeding brakes. I ordered a new MC and hopefully it will solve my problems. I guess the old owner neglected to tell me as he just let problems mount up instead of addressing them.
