Reverse Light Wiring
Reverse Light Wiring
So I'm having an issue with me '00 RL reverse lights and intend to install aftermarket smd LED lights to act as reverse lights instead of stock oem bulbs. The strip I bought has a (+) and (-) wire that is to be connected to the reverse light wiring. My vehicle did not come with a manual and wiring is not my forte. Any chance someone could point me in the right direction as to what power source/wires to tap to make this work out?
thanks!

A little late now I guess, but you can buy LED bulbs that just replace the existing bulbs. No wiring needed. Unless the SMD is "wired" for 12V DC, you'll need a current limiting resistor in series with the LED. Without one, you'll burn up your SMD.
Here's the schematic for the B/U lights for an '02. Green w/black stripe is + and the solid black is - (ground)

If you have the data sheet for the SMD, you can get the info from it to input into this calculator to get the resistor value you'll need.
