My car is an Acura RL 2000 with Navigation.

I bought a new Immobilizer Key Kit and my friend at Honda can program it to my current keys but he needs a password to start the programming.
This is what the procedure entails.

Acura Technician types your car's VIN number into their desktop PC connected to Honda site.
The desktop PC returns a code which allows the immobilizer to be reprogrammed for your VIN number.

The Acura technician connects the diagnostic tool to your RL OBD2 port.
My friend, who works for HONDA, can come to my house with his computer and program the Immobilizer unit there, but he works at Honda they don't have access to "Acura's" site to get the "code" called for above. It is based on the VIN#.

Does anyone of you guys have access to this info that can provide me that password code if I provide him my VIN#? Local Dealer won't do it. I need to take it in but I can't tow it right now.

Apparently Acura and Honda have different internet sites to get this password..

My car has been down for three weeks already...please help..

You need to provide the VIN, the DATE (that you'll be doing this), and the attempt number you are doing (meaning, is this the first time you are trying the password... which is 1, or is this the 3rd which would be 3).

Can you access get code or are you just adding information to the procedure of the programming?
Yeah I can provide that..this will be my first attempt. I need to find out if someone can get me code to arrange with my Honda friend to come by and program the unit.
If you can do it, email me at the address in original thread and I can provide the info needed.

I called Acura dealer and they won't provide the code...I have to bring the car to them. I go my car is useless to me now. I am not stealing my own car!!!
