FYI you can get a PDF version of the service manual off the internet for free.

Yea I know, I have it. But for those who want it anyways, you know. The pdf version is a little difficult to navigate at times especially when Im pressed for time.

It's probably the same as the ones you can download for free. Dude is trying to make money from something that is free.

if it says it comes on a CD (this one does) then it's the free one and he's scamming you. this seller is definitely trying to make a buck selling something that's available elsewhere for free.

An actual shop manual listing will show a picture of the manual and is definitely worth it even for $75 or so, but they don't usually cover the whole 96-04 range. the PDF DOES NOT have detailed troubleshooting information, and there's also a specific supplement manual for electrical schematics and troubleshooting.

buying the paper manuals recently helped me diagnose and fix a problem with my ABS for $80 (blown power mirror fuse plus the cost of the manuals) that the dealer wanted to charge me $900 to diagnose and fix: they said the whole fuse box needed to be replaced (and that would have fixed it too, with me being none the wiser without the paper manual).

paper manuals are better anyway.

I agree detailed info can go a long way and can show walk-throughs. Also the schematics are always a plus. Wiring can be a nightmare!!

Ehh i usually just google my issues. Ive always found the info ive needed including the DTS codes for the ABS via the interwebs. On other cars i also prefer DIY write ups because its usually someone doing it in their garage with a basic mechanics tool kit.

But as long you get the information you need i guess.

Downloads work great except for Electrical one in which case the links from the TOC don't appear to work.
