Could someone help. I've had my engine light looked at numerous times and I'm told the 'computer' readout says O2 Sensor problem. When it gets replaced, in a few weeks to a month or so the light comes back on and the process gets repeated. They even replaced the sensor for free the 3rd time. They said the chip sensor? is bad and would be very expensive to have to replace. Car runs fine. I've let this go for over a year now and car runs fine. In fact, the light goes out at times, yet eventually comes back on.

 

sounds like a bad ecu, i wish i had a test one to send you but....

 

Is the ECU that large grey box that is under the passenger footrest? I think I have one left over from my 96 in a box in the garage. What is the part number?
