Exclamation DTC codes and shift lock ups!

Here's a problem for the pros out there.

So, my 2001 RL is stuck in park. My D4 light blinks and my scan tool gave me code 1768 (defective linear solenoid). I checked the ohm reading on the solenoid and it gives me 6 ohms (it should be between 4-6) I applied voltage to the connector and heard the clicking sound, therefore I think the solenoid is good. I checked the continuity in all the wiring and harnesses and everything is fine. All other solenoids are good too. I even swapped the PCM (computer) and changed the Multiplex Components and driver door module because they are linked to the shift lock mechanism. No luck.

My question is this: will the shift lock up if a linear solenoid goes bad? If lets say after all these tests, my solenoid is still faulty, will this cause the shifter to lock up? Should I just replace the solenoid regardless?

As a side note, this car was under repair for other things (non-mechanical) for a couple months and within that time I installed a navigation and OnStar system from a 2002 RL. Is there some component from this system that would cause my shifter to lock up, the D4 to start blinking and give me a DTC code?

I know this is a lot and pretty advanced for most but Ive tried all kinda stuff and I need some expert guidance. Thank in advance for the help.

Is shift cable loose or broken?
Seizure test for solenoids mentioned in SM.
Pump binding?

Looking at the 05' SM troubleshooting section:

Under Engine runs but vehicle does not move in any gear:

No causes of bad linear solenoid given. This tells me the answer to your specific question is no.

What it does say is:

1) Low ATF
2) Shift cable broken or out of adjustment
3) Connection between shift cable or and trans or body is worn
4) ATF pump worn or binding
5) Regulator valve stuck or spring worn
6) ATF strainer clogged
7) Mainshaft worn or damaged
8) Final gears worn or damaged
9) Park mechanism defective
10) Transmission to engine assembly error
11) Axle disengaged

I had a problem like that in an Accord. When it all came down everything tested good and the problem was a faulty tranny ecu.

Can you get a hold of a known good ecu to test?
