I have a 2000 rl and yesterday when I got in my car at the top center of my rearview mirror there was a rounded oval shape about 1 inch vertical and 3 inches long patch that has no tint at all (like a normal mirror). Now the rest of the mirror shows 2 of everything. I looked online and the cheapest i can find a new one is $350. anyone know if this can be fixed? or am i sol and will be payin that 350 plus the instilation?

 

From what I've read on the net that sounds like the fluid in your auto dimming mirror just took a crap.

I say try an auto recycler before going with a new unit.

As a side note the 2002-2003 had onstar buttons on the mirror and could have a different plug. The 2004 didn't have onstar buttons on the mirror
