Do you think 9600 for a 02 RL with 72k miles is a good deal? It seems like you didn't want to be stuck with the maintenance. By any chance do you know what the '02 RL are negatively known for?? thanks
Kelly Blue Book puts an 02 3.5RL with 72k miles (Private Party Values around my location) at:
Excellent: $10,348
Very Good: $9,998
Good: $9,773
Fair: $8,848
The condition of the car, interior and exterior, will make the price change. If the car is clean, then you should be getting a good deal.

"By any chance do you know what the '02 RL are negatively known for??" Are you asking if the 02 has any known problems? If so, they are pretty minor. The one bad one is the rear window regulator and you can search the forum for info about that.

It's a glitch more than anything else. These cars are very reliable.

I see....yes i had to sign in....anyway 02 mentioned "electrical" as a minus but not a bad mark....otherwise as stated these vehicles were the BEST made by Acura....the 05+++++ have lots of issues.....
I think it's a little pricy. If you aren't in a rush and are paint, I think you could find a better deal.
The first gen RL is very reliable, especially the closer you get to an 04. There really aren't many "common" issues. There is the main relay though.
Good luck with your search!
