Bought roof rack and ski attachment, but the installation instructions for the ski attachment are nothing like what the cross-bars look like (must be Honda CRV or MDX). It is not clear how to remove the rubber strip along the top of the cross-bar, has anyone done this?

Are you looking at the instructions that say RDX on them?

Looks like you just start at one end and peel them back....

Yes, I am looking at the RDX one. Notice that it shows removal of some kind of cap on the cross bar which does not exist on the RDX rack. I guess I will assume that there is no need to remove the bar ends and you just peel it back.
