Reverse Lights Stuck On and Reverse Camera on Automatically

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to chase some electrical gremlins in my car. I have a 2011 RDX and just this morning, I went to check my oil level and top up my windshield washer fluid and once I finished, I closed my trunk and noticed my reverse lights were on, even while my car was off and no key in the ignition. I've seen a few forum posts already but no one replied after they resolved their issues. I was told that it could be due to the heavy rainfall, but I've driven through worse rain than that with never any issues. Has anyone been able to locate the failed switch/part? I'm thinking it may be the neutral safety switch. My scanner wasn't able to find any codes either. This issue only started after I closed my trunk. I've already left the car battery disconnected for over an hour and still the same thing happens.

The reverse lights are controlled by the MICU in the under-dash fuse box. The MICU (multiplex integrated control unit) is circuit board within the fuse box and you might have to replace the under-dash fuse relay box unit to fix the problem. I've read the MICU can become damaged from water intrusion.

This isn't for an RDX but it shows what may be needed to replace the MICU (fuse box).

How I replaced and reprogrammed MICU Unit, Fuse Box, Multiplex Control Unit on a 2014 Honda Odyssey

Hello there! Did you manage to resolve this? After a heavy rain my wife’s 08 has the reverse lights stuck on as well as the back up camera display.

Still like this too, brother. I want to try replacing the neutral switch, to see if maybe that’s the issue 😩

The dealer has one for you at $905.18.
Or you can give this one a go for a tenth of the price?

Nice catch!
The eBay vendor has the incorrect part number assigned to the listing.

The images below appear to be correct for the 'under-hood fuse box.

To bad it is out of stock, it's even less $$.

These damn parts people.

I spent 3 hours under the hood of my RDX last night, I could spot that damn fusebox a mile away lol

Yup that's the under-dash box:
