Red face Please help. I don't even know what this is.

Hi. I have a 2008 RDX W/tech and 97,??? Miles. I'm the only owner and have always had the recommended services. Went to fill the windshield washer fluid the other day and there is what looks like oil on the parts in the pics. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal and worried about an expensive repair. Not sure if it's related but, I've had about 3 episodes where the AC doesn't cool and then then the next time it's started it works fine. Also, I'm due a service, B12. Thanks for the help!

It looks like an air bypass valve or something else in that area. I would leave alone (don't clean) and have the Acura tech confirm where the leak is at. Once you get the exact repair $$ and/or part #; then to can decide to let Acura or do it on your own. Don't want to start replacing parts when you are not 100% sure if you are fixing the real problem or the messy results of a deeper problem.

What color is and what does it smell like? Sounds weird, but can assist in the diagnosis...
