Hey guys, being that this car is new to me, '07 RDX w/tech, I like to fix the car as much as possible. I've already fixed / repainted some spots on the car. I currently have a rock chip in my driver's door jam beside the window. To me it looks like some type of black rubberized paint. Can I pick this type of paint up anywhere? I plan to use a dremel to grind the rust out of in and just repaint that small area. Let me know your thoughts.

^^^^on my 09 RDX, I believe that part is sheet metal covered with black vinyl (wrapped). Not sure how the part could be removed from the door, and re-wrapped with vinyl. I treat it with vinyl protectant, and if that has been done to your own vehicle, that would make it very difficult to paint. Anyway, its vinyl, so if you want to paint it, you would want to remove the vinyl first and paint the underlying metal part. It might also be possible to buy a new part - check the online appropriate parts diagram (or visit the dealer parts-desk and have a look-see).

Or just use touch-up paint on the small chips.

 

Awesum! Thanks. I had no idea this would actually be a part. I've found it on http://www.acuraoemparts.com. Now I just have to figure out how it is applied before I try to take my existing one off!

The 09 FSM gives no info on removal or replacement - the description given in your post would indicate its applied with double-sided tape. Perhaps with a new part in-hand, application would be obvious.
