A/C Intermittent - Clutch and Coil Problem?
A/C Intermittent - Clutch and Coil Problem?
I searched a few older threads but wondered if anyone had a recent experience that matches mine.
The A/C on my 2008 Tech has worked fine (bought the car new) but two days ago, suddenly it stopped and just blew hot air as I left the Home Depot parking lot.
Yesterday morning and all through the day it worked fine.
We are in the middle of a long hot spell so no big change in weather.
I've had the letter in 2013 from Acura about the clutch and coil issue and the extended warranty.
Talking to the service department they said it could be this or anything else.
I've seen references to the relay problems on older threads. I'm six months over the extended warranty (but under the mileage limit) so I would have to appeal to Acura to cover costs as a good will gesture if it is clutch and coil.
Does the intermittent cold then hot match up with the clutch and coil problem or something else?

Took it to an indy Japanese service shop, and they reported it low on refrigerant. Added the fluorescent stuff it and it cools well now. But they'll be looking for a leak at my next oil change.
