Hoping someone can help.....I have a 2012 RDX Tech AWD with about 32k miles on it. I have been experiencing an odd issue for the past few weeks. When I am in drive and come to a stop.....the vehicle will jerk forward as if someone bumped you and hit you. Then today when I was parking at a local store there was an odd grinding noise while parking and the vehicle dyed while in drive and "check charing system" error came up on the dashboard. I started the vehicle and it started fine but when I put it into drive it immediately stalled. I was able to get the vehicle home by giving it some gas immediately when I shifted to drive. Now I let the vehicle sit for a few hours and just drove it again and now it seems to drive OK......but if I am stopped and put into drive or reverse the vehicle still jumps slightly.....but it did drive ok.

Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated. Vehicle is under warranty.

 

The charging system light makes me think you should start by checking the battery and the alternator first - in that order. Tranny can act weird if you don't have enough juice to power the car, although if it was really that bad I'd think it wouldn't even start.

Of course, all is moot since as you stated the car is under warranty - just take it in and go from there.
