3 gen RDX chassis

Anybody know if the 3 gen RDX will have a sportier chassis than the 2nd gen? More like gen 1?

There is a 99% chance it is going to be using the new CRV/Civic platform which from reviews is WAY sportier than the older CRV platform. Acura has been making moves towards a sporty brand again (hopefully not just looks but substance too) so there is a strong chance we will get SH-AWD again. So if we do get SH-AWD and a stiffer chassis like the new CRV and a turbo powertrain, we might actually get a vehicle that avenges the 1G RDX's name.

All the 2nd Gen RDX folks are wishing for V-6 under the hood. I don't think the 3rd Gen RDX will be as sporty if there was a front heavy V-6. Sh-awd will help in the I-4 turbo or V-6 engine options; but, the I-4 turbo will make the RDX a little bit more balanced and give it more TQ if they bring back sh-awd (not that CR-V awd crap). I would even wait and see if that put in the the sport hybrid sh-awd powertrain in the 3rd Gen RDX if Acura sticks with CR-V awd set-up for the lower models.

I'm hoping for more aftermarket support with a sportier model because it nearly dried up to just rims and floor mats with the 2nd Gen RDX aftermarket support.

I totally agree about the V6 not being appropriate for a sporty drive. It will just be way too front heavy in something so small and light that even SH-AWD probably could not fix. I also don't want to see that CRV AWD crap in the RDX anymore....it's not even able to send 50% of the power to the rear...far cry from the 70% of the 1G RDX. I honestly wish they changed the name from RDX to something else because it does so much wrong to the 1G RDX. You also want to know what is the real knife twist? The fact that the Pilot gets SH-AWD now....like why does the Pilot need it and the RDX no?

I also hear you on the piss poor afternarket support. It sucks because the 1G didn't sell nearly as well and yet it has WAY more support. If the 3G goes back to 1G roots and also still sells well the aftermarket support will be awesome!
