Looking to get it done myself, but struggling w/the downtime required while they have your ECU. And buying a spare ECU for double the cost is not an option I'm considering.

I was thinking about getting the reflash for my 2008 rdx. Hondata said on their website if they receive the ECU in the morning, they will reflash and ship the same day. I'm willing to pay the extra cost and overnight it both ways. Best case is maybe 48 hrs of down time.

I will do the reflash in the next 2 weeks.

Hey sublime1, how is the ride with the Eibach Prokit during normal driving (close to stock, a little harsh, etc..)

I haven't recv'd my springs yet. I just ordered them yesterday, but I'll post my opinions here once I've had a chance to break them in. Probably a week out...

There are some rdx owners here w/the Eibach's installed who have posted their in other threads. Hopefully you're able to find them...

Def looking fwd to get them installed and experiencing the ride.

...BTW - those that got the Eibachs were pleased w/the results. IMO, it's ~1" and if nothing else, it just "cleans up" the wheel gap very nicely from the pix I saw!

I am not sure. I was going to get it done, but couldn't find the application for my ECU #. I posted on the HONDATA website forum and they responded back saying that there was no Reflash available! Totally sucks!

Mr. Gold, did you follow thru with your reflash?

Did you send it to them directly? I was under the impression that you need to bring it to one of their dealers.

yep. All you need to do is unplug your ECU (3 electrical plugs and 3 bolts to remove the ECU from the metal/plastic housing). You print off one of their order forms from their website and fill it out and locate a local dealer (also from their website). You'll give pymt to the local dealer, idenitfy them on the order form and ship your ECU directly to Hondata (their adress in Torrance, CA is listed along the left on their website). Once they recv your ECU, they'll call the local dealer to confirm pymt, reflash and ship back to you.

If you've even contemplated getting the reflash before, I'd do it now while they have their price dropped to $295 (from what was $595). Not sure why or how long or if it's long-term pricing, but I didn't want to risk it...

If you have any questions about the process, you should contct your local Hondata dealer. Mine was VERY helpful.

...as per my local dealer, they changed their process, but not sure when. Their local dealers no longer do the reflash, they only take the pymt.

I called and set my appointment for Monday morning to drop off the RDX and they will reflash and install the new lowering springs. I'm still hoping for only 48 hrs of down time.

At $295, I might drop off the TSX when I pick up the RDX and get the reflash for this vehicle.

May as well, right? You can get 2 done now for what would've been the price of a single reflash a couple weeks ago...

Got my 08 RDX back from having the reflash and Eibach springs installed. I dropped the car off on Monday at lunch and picked it up on Wednesday at 4pm. I paid extra to ship the ECU overnight both ways (about $80 total for shipping).

I haven't had a chance to play with reflash that much; but, there is a noticeable increase in acceleration from 0-60 mph. The acceleration from 60-80 mph is what I really wanted to improve on the RDX and the reflash has made it so much easier to get up to speed.

I still need to take the RDX in for an alignment after the springs install. I like the look of the RDX now with the lowering springs. I hit my favorite 360 degree hwy on ramp and the RDX felt more planted and secure around the corner. I can exit the 35 mph on-ramp at 60mph in my TSX with A-spec/Progress RSB/Bridgestone RE960; but, I didn't have any power out the turn to get pass the 18 wheelers and get up to 75 mph in a hurry. This morning, I exit the on-ramp at 55 mph (still have OEM tires) and shot up to 85 mph before having to merge in traffic.

I was also amazed on how the ride still felt stock with normal around town driving and hwy cruising (this will my wife happy). I can't wait to take the RDX up Sandi Peak on the switchbacks and test the new reflash/springs up and down the mountain.

still trying to figure out why hondata charges $900 for a new flashed ecu, when you can get a spare for $227.

I know they have to get it to work with your immobilizer, but that means they are charging you almost $400 for just that alone...

I'm guessing you're buying a Hondata stand alone ECU, not an Acura part that has been flashed...

I think they are just charging MSRP. They just have not updated their price yet to match the new reflash price.

For those that have sent in their stock ECU to get reflashed, did your oil data reset to 100% or did it retain your current oil life? For instance, if i'm reading 50% oil life and send in my ECU for a reflash, will it read 50% oil life when I get it back?

It said right on the hondata site that it will reset the oil life (up to 100% I assume)

Actually what it said is a NEW ecu will start the oil life at 100%. The ecu stores the engine oil life so it will retain the information if you simply reflash the original ecu.

After I had mine reflashed it remained at the 70% it was pre-flash.

Thanks for the clarification! Now I just gotta figure out when I can do this.

Wow....only $295? I need to get this done. I paid $1500 to flash my C63 with a Kleemann tune and that is cheap compared to the other tunes that put out similar power.

When you buy a spare ECU, do you just take it into your dealer and pay to have it programmed to work with your RDX?
