Fog light replacements???

Just had a fog light busted out by a rock! Anybody do any upgrades, besides the HID bulb change out, to another style of fog light? $200+ for one light from the dealer to install.

Dang! maybe i should invest in some protective film...

You mean like a whole different fog light unit? like a PIAA projector or something of the kind?

On ebay someone has an OEM RH one for $45 and another for $99. I also had seen a LH for $99. Not too bad if you just need one.

The labor is where the dealer gets you. And from what I can tell it will be a pain in the rear to change.

^They are way easy to do yourself. It just requires removal of the bumper. A few screws, a couple of bolts and plastic clips and a tug on each side and it pops right off.

I may just order the one for $98 and do it myself, then.

Hmm...then I'll be tempted to do HID's.

They work fine. The color just does not match very well.

I have the 6000K HID's from HIDNY, and the foglight assembly replacement is on its way.

True, but protective lens film (Lamin-X) burns with the hot stock halogens. The HID's do put out more light and burn cooler so you don't have to replace the film very often.

4500k is tough to find in the aftermarket. Most HID kits jump from yellow 3000K to 6000K from what I had seen, so I figure 6000K is the closest.

I think I saw your post that you fixed your fog lights on another topic Brizy but I was wondering if you or anyone else ever looked into a plastic lens for the RDX. I saw a picture on a TL around here and his 10k fogs looks very sharp!

There is another thread on here somewhere about protective film for the foglights.

Edit: Found it: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...fog+light+film

Whoops, wasn't clear, I had meant the entire thing. Not just a film. The entire housing also.
Found the pic.
