Cold Air intake - Weapon R

Weapon R has a new CAI for the RDX. No real performance specs that I could find.

According to acura, the RDX already has some type of CAI- Thoughts anyone?

i didnt see anything about a cai...is this what u were talking about

Air-to-air intercooler ?

If so that is just the "ram air" style of the hood to the top mounted intercooler. as far as i can tell

COLD-AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM AND INTERCOOLER
An air inlet is positioned in the front fascia to supply the RDX engine with cold, dense air (see the Body & Chassis section). From there, ducting carries cold air to a large air filter assembly, and then on to the turbo located behind the engine block. From the turbo, compressed intake air flows forward over the engine via an air-to-air intercooler which lowers the temperature of the intake charge. Intake air exits the intercooler and passes through a drive-by-wire throttle body, a manifold and then into each cylinder.
To provide the intercooler with a constant flow of cooling air, the RDX has a large front air inlet above the grille, with ducting directly to the intercooler, creating a ram effect for increased air velocity across the intercooler.

The stock airbox is too restrictive for airflow. That would be the main advantage of the Weapon R product. The cp-e product looks to be better with the less restrictive filter and a better location for colder air than the Weapon R. Plus cp-e has the dyno numbers to prove their results.

thought i read the whole thing! guess im going blind...and at 24 yrs old! better work on that, thanks. umm in response to the OP now, i dont think a CAI aftermarket would do that much, i think the biggest part of a CAI is positioning outside of the engine bay, which is already done, changing materials i dont think will do enough to warrant the price change

Pretty much every vehicle made has cold air induction. They just have silencers, baffles and a paper filter. The filter on a stick simple does away with that and gives you an unrestricted flow path.

I just ordered mine from JC Whitney...free shipping (weapon R). I should be getting soon, I will post the results (ie sound, feel, increase in mpg etc) don't have a dyno or access to one.
