Where are the stereo's crossovers located?

I have an 07 Tech and I'm about to swap out the four front door speakers. Does anyone know where the factory crossovers are located?
Thanks.

Bump. I've taken a look at the Service Manual and can't find a reference to crossovers anywhere...but wouldn't crossovers be necessary for the OEM door speakers which are split between tweeters and woofers? Likewise, I've bought component replacement speakers with their own crossovers, but I don't see how to wire them in.
Thx.

I believe that the frequency split takes place in the head unit or amplifier. There is no separate conventional crossover component.

Thanks Carmine, I also have the manual but I don't see any crossovers so I suspect that work is being done by the head unit or the amp...?

wspy: I think you're right. So how do you upgrade the OEM tweeters, drivers and crossovers in the doors if you can't replace the OEM crossovers? Obviously I could just plug the speakers in and not use the new crossovers but isn't that a bad idea in terms of sound quality? FWIW, I bought JBL GX600Cs (once I narrowed down options that were both component speaker and 2 ohms, there's precious few options).
Thanks.

Shouldn't really matter if you just install the JBLs without their crossover because the stock factory system has done it (freq split) already. Your main concern is that the impedance is correct at 2 ohms.

Hi, I was just curious, but did you ever install the speakers without the passive crossover? If you did, how did it sound?

How much would this affect the sound quality and/or volume level?
