sub replacement
sub replacement
JL Audio 8W3V3-4 8" Single 4-Ohm W3V3 Series Subwoofer
here is the critical info
8" 4-ohm subwoofer
mineral-filled polypropylene cone with nitrile-butylene rubber surround
power range: 50-250 watts RMS
peak power handling: 500 watts
frequency response: 28-250 Hz
sensitivity: 83.24 dB
top-mount depth: 4-9/16"
sealed box volume: 0.3 cubic feet
does any one know what the depth is from the mounting flange to the bottom of the factory sub box?
I could make it fit but it would be nice if there was only minor trimming required.

link to crutchfield comparison of direct fit replacement subs. might still need an amp to get the sub to sound good though.

I know right. well the news is that this will be on the back burner till I get home because the local shop wants 100 to install the sub and another 100 to install the amp... but they'd cut me a break if I bought everything there...
but ill resurrect this when I get home. in the mean time go show heeltoe some love!!!
pics and write up to follow mid march.

well the write up is coming along nicely ( its 3 pages in word so far with no pics... mods I might need help with how to post this much stuff
) but I think I'm going to put crossovers in the front doors and go ahead and swap out the tweeters. but the component woofers sound awesome in the front doors and the sub absolutely smokes the factory setup!!!
