upgrade sound system

I was just wondering if anybody's upgraded the factory subwoofer and amp but still kept the factory location without modifying anything except for putting in better equipment.

Might as well keep the dead alive a smidge longer. I have also been wondering if this is feasible. I want to use this sub http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm . As far as I have read the oem sub depth is 4" yes? this is 3.36" for an 8" sub with a max output of 600W. That is pretty good for a tiny sub. I have used Audison, Hertz and Focal in the past in my old Accord and the swapped into my 08 Si and have loved the sound and quality of their products so I want to stick with them. It would be really cool to be able to keep the oem sub box and grille so no one would be the wiser.

peak numbers are deceiving look at RMS this is a much better means of measuring a subwoofers capacity. and aftermarket amps as well.

Very good points. Seems the RMS is 200W which is still pretty good. Better than factory. Figure pairing that with a quality 5-channel amp and the tunes would pound quite nicely. I look forward to you're write up.

I did our 14 rdx with a kicker comp 8" sub fit perfect in factory location then used a 300 w NVX amp cause it is super small fit behind side panel wired input siginal from old sub speaker wire & un hooked the active noise unit under the center consol.

So how does it sound? Does the little amp drive the sub well?
