Close windows from outside.

Hi,
I'm trying to find out if there is a way to close the windows/sunroof from outside the car. I could do that in my Audi by holding the key in the close position for a few seconds (on the door handle). I'm not able to do that on the RDX, is this a feature I've lost?

If it is any consolation, you can still operate the windows and sunroof 10 seconds after you turn off the engine as long as you haven't opened a door yet. I think that's kind of a nice feature, but I suppose not as good as being able to close them remotely from outside the car.

ya the rdx lacks soo many features .... i think acura and honda are always behind in the small stuff.

My buddies bmw 525xi has the ability to roll down the windows remotely Kind of a cool feature when its boiling hot outside and you wanna release some heat from the inside while walking to your car.

though its not factory, you can have a dei530t installed 1 for each 2 windows that will give you rollup when the vehicle is locked, or you hold the key in locked posistion. It also gives you the ability to have one touch up/down from each window.. we have that now for the front windows on the driver side only right now. you can also have it installed on the sun roof or the comprable part thats similar is dei529. There are other makers of similar parts as well.

Maybe I'm wrong, but don't most manufacturers (incl. Acura) save a few accessories for future years?

Haven't heard about the '09 RDX yet, but I'd be willing to bet it will have a few of the items everyone has been complaining about.

I believe this is a selling point for the manufacturer. If the 09 has everything the 08 had, what would be the motivation for buyers (some, not all) to purchase the new model when you can get the exact same car used or last years model off the lot for a bit cheaper? So, rather than being an oversight, Acura will slowly add accessories over time. Next year will be power passenger, year after will have remote start, year after that will have folding mirrors, and so on. If you want to wait till 2011 for the perfect RDX, good luck.

Also, when they redesign the car (like the new MDX, for example) it is frequently pared down a bit so they can again add accessories as the years go on. Why on earth would anyone buy an 06 MDX if you knew the 07 would be completely redesigned.....because you had more accessory options on the 06. (I don't know this for a fact about the MDX....just using it as an example) As I noted above, if you want to wait till 2011.....I'm going to wait until 2012 when it gets a complete makeover.

It's unfortunate for those of us that buy a car in the early years of production, but it's a fact of life.

According to the Acura website, you can roll the windows up and down by putting the key in the door lock on the '09 RDX.

BUT, I cannot get this to work NOR do the two dealerships I went to know how to work this or are being helpful. Anyone have any advice?
