Bluetooth question

Ive been using the bluetooth in my car for about 4 months now. I notice at times when i try to end a call it doesnt really end it. I end up having to press end on my phone and then after that click the end button on the steering wheel. I was then reading the manual and it says some phones my act differently to the bluetooth. I have the LG-VX9800 which is the brick of verizon. Anyhow...i remember trying to place a call and sometimes i dont hear anything like a dial tone or sometimes when i pick up a call i dont hear anything. Not sure if it is my phone or just the bluetooth my phone is rather old but just wondering if anyone has been experiencing the same kinds of issues. This happens sometimes and other times it works. I would think the bluetooth would pick up calls, and make calls easier. Is this something i should address with acura or is this something that i need to address with my phone? Thanks for any input.

I haven't experienced the same problems (using a Treo 650 and iPhone) but Acura has a free toll-free service you can call and maybe someone can help you out there. You can also check the official hands-free website and see if your phone is compatible:

http://www.acura.com/handsfreelink/

Good luck!

The VX9800 should be fully compatible. It could be either the car or the phone that is causing the problems. I'd make sure your phone is up-to-date with the latest software from Verizon. You can do this at most Verizon stores. Or you can call Verizon and they can walk you through checking your phone for which version of the software it is running and whether or not there is an update available. If you can't get it working that way, then go to your dealer and ask them to help you with the pairing.

i paired my phone okay but its incoming calls and ending calls that give me problems...im going to try to pair another phone and see maybe if it was something on my end and maybe not the car. Like i would finish up the call with the person and i hit end but it doesnt end sometimes it redials the person's number again.

With HFL I've found some quirky behavior. For incoming calls, if I answer the call right away, I seem to have trouble connecting. However, if I wait a few seconds for the phone number to appear in the display and then tap talk, its OK. Its like it needs a few seconds to sync or something.

With ending a call, I have to tap the end button twice. Its as if tapping it once leaves you in an HFL menu and then the second tap releases the system all together.

After I have taken a call via HFL, for the remainder of the ride if I get a text it mutes the radio, rings, and shows "Incoming Call" on the MID with no number listed. Anybody experience this?

You can store phone numbers in the nav system address book and dial from there.
Or use your phone's address book and transfer to bluetooth.
