Aftermarket Key Fob

Aftermarket Key Fob
I purchased a cheap aftermarket Fob a year ago and attached the original Acura cut key portion to the new electronics. It worked for the most part, but a couple months ago, the electronics portion of the Fob started failing. I replaced the battery thinking that was the issue, but it turns out its just my Fob is going dead. Now I at this time cant afford the 200 bucks for an actual replacement Acura key fob, so I got what I did instead. Is it typical to only get a year out of a cheap Fob? I found out the cut key portion on the cheap fob sticks in the ignition, so I kept using the original cut key.

Did your after market fob come with any sort of warranty? You mentioned a year ago, perhaps it wouldn't apply anyway. A year sounds short in terms of usable lifespan but suppose anything is possible with after market electronics.

I got the new Fob which was the same as the in the last one. Tried programming it and it didnt take. Im wondering if I reached my FOB limit in the computer? How many FOBS will Acura allow to be programmed?

There are some online 3rd party resources that say for a 2010 RDX (4) fobs can be programmed.
