Troubleshooting P2263 - pay for dealer or DIY diagnosis?

Another P2263 turbo boost/SH-AWD post but I'm wondering if I should shell out for a dealer diagnostic. I know it's possible to kill the P2263 code via software, and I think that might be the best solution but I'd like to confirm there isn't a major problem before doing that.
Does anyone have thoughts on how to go about troubleshooting? I've learned the hard way over the years about the cost of replacing parts that don't solve the problem. Some facts with my RDX that might be relevant:

1. This code has been flashing for a long time, but I ignored it because it appeared just after installing Hondata Flashpro. I recently uninstalled Flashpro but the codes keep returning.
2. The dash boost gauge goes to max so there isn't an obvious boost issue.
3. I am able to move the eyebolt actuator linkage up and down, but there's nothing loose or sloppy, and I can't see any obvious wear on the eyebolt (I uploaded a pic).
4. There has been a gas smell for a long time, perhaps from unburned fuel which made me think of an over-rich mixture.

One last thing: there's a low frequency vibration, it cycles every second or so, that happens when I hit 45mph but goes away after about 55mph. My first thought was a wheel bearing but I'm wondering if it could be related to the car being in FWD mode.

Thanks for any input.
