So my CEL came on and it threw a code of p0497 which related to EVAP. Anybody have this light come on? And how to fix this problem. A few people have said the issue is most likely my canister. Just wanted extra input. Oh and if there's a DIY or anything you can include, that'd be great.

 

the canister will not throw you a CEL code, you can try replace the canister and hope that CEL does not come back.

 

I have P0498 occur pretty often, maybe 6 times a year.
I just clear the code and it usually never comes on, unless its a very hot day out or a really long 5 hour drive.

Try clearing it and see what happens.
