RDX info from autoshow

No RDX at the Richmond Autoshow. I did talk to the reps and they told me that the producion model will be deduted at the New York show. They also said that it's going to be around 33k. Nothing new. They didn't seem to know much. I can't believe that Acura is so tightlipped about the RDX.

Nice, its a month off to the New York show, so looks like we'll know more then. That makes sense to me, as thats where they'll probably show the 2007 MDX right? I can't wait to get the final info!

Also, I think the 33k price is right (maybe 35k if nav is an option). 33,000 is what consumer reports listed (as an estimate) in the Apr 2006 car issue. Seems like they would have an easier time getting info out of Honda than anyone else, and you've confirmed it from acura reps. Probably our best estimate until NYIAS.

If Acura follows the normal route, the MDX will go from "concept" with no mirrors, wipers, wild interior to a "prototype" that looks like the production verson with the exception of big wheels. brakes, and wild body kit (think of where the RDX is now). However, I doubt they'll debut anything on the MDX till the RDX is burning gas in customers' hands. You only get so many shots at a big press release, and I doubt they'll "steal the RDXs thunder" by talking about the MDX now.

The reps also said that there are only going to be a few interior changes and maybe some body changes. What we saw in Detroit is pretty much what we will see in the dealerships.

The New York Auto Show website has nothing about the RDX. It has a whole section on new models and another on debuts at the show. The Ford Edge (a potential compeititor, especially the Lincoln MKX version) is there.

Acura is being quite closed-mouthed about this.

I hope they will change these...

I hope they will not use the black chrome trim around the windows, but instead use the regular chrome trim that they had on the concept car last year. I also hope that we will not see these gray gunmetal rims - they somehow just don't look right on the RDX! The regular alloy wheels will look much better....

Apart from that, I wonder if they will keep the 2 tone body?

The dark gray parts are obviously (to me anyway) an add on body kit.

Someone on another forum said they went to the Kansas City Auto Show over this past weekend (3/10/06) and the Acura reps also told them the RDX will be shown at the New York show. They also said the production Honda Fit would be shown as well. So thats somewhat of a "confirmation"
