Poor Coverage of outside mirrors

Does anyone have a good and good looking solution for the poor coverage of the outside mirrors? They do not turn away from the car enough for proper adjustment for both my wife and I. I find that cars are always slipping into a blind spot that is very near the car.

I put small blind spot mirrors on them though I still turn around to look anyway. I really don't have a problem with their visibility though.

I don't have a problem with their visibility either. Maybe moving your seat could help you look out your mirrors a little better.

not sure about this - I had a problem with them not going out far enough, but after a car wash where the spray hit the mirror head on (it was the right one that wasn't doing it for me), it now goes out further than it used to without problem. Maybe manually push it out wider and then see if the switch will move it back and forth all the way?

I did notice that if you try the "modified" mirror position, where the mirrors are set very wide and work with the rear view mirror to cover a continuous view) The RDX mirrors would not go wide enough.
I guess this set up is being taught to lots of young drivers now a days.
I use the angle where a tiny bit of the side of my car is visable in my mirrors. JUst what I'm used to.

This pdf shows a great way to properly adjust the side mirrors:

http://www.cartalk.com/content/featu...alkMirrors.pdf

However, it does give bad angles on the side mirrors when you back up.... unless you have the funky MDX mirrors that rotate down for you.
Hope this helps.

How are the MDX mirrors different than the RDX mirrors? The RDX ones tilt down (at least the passenger side). Do the MDX ones do something different?

I have short legs, so I see fine (moving forward is like tilting the mirrors farther out).

I had the same complaint with the RDX when I first bought it. The mirrors are terrible compared to the X3 I used to drive. But lifeat's right...I was probably used to the modified position. I now have my mirrors set up the same way lifeat does and it works pretty well.
