Non Acura help

Bought my wife a 2015 Honda crv ran great for about a year then had problems, thought it was brakes so I replaced brakes and rotors. Had a mild screech so I replaced wheel bearings, then 5 months later hearing a horrible metal screeching sound, driver side wheel spins freely. Passenger side is getting locked up but with enough force rotates but stops instantly. I will upload videos of the sound, I took the caliper off and still heard the same sound.

To confirm, with no brake resistance and a fresh wheel bearing, it still doesn't spin freely? If so the only other thing I can think of would be your axle (aka CV joint). Or, worse, something inside the gearbox itself. But nether seems likely given your symptoms. Is it possible the replacement bearing is a dud?

Could also be a seized brake caliper on the passenger

Why is this in the1G RDX sub-forum?

Sticking caliper ruined the brake pads on that wheel?

It's not there caliper or pads I took it off and put it in drive same noise didn't change. I'm thinking blown wheel bearing and not the transmission.

Sounds like a wheel bearing, but you should grab a cheap mechanic's stethoscope to verify.

Yeah it was a wheel bearing, took it to Firestone to have them diagnose it, $10 for them to confirm it. They wanted $300 to replace it. I was like what in the fuck, so I took the hub off myself and took it to a shop for $50.

They fucking broke my knuckle pressing the bearing out. Now I have to take a day off of work to deal with it. They had it on the press wrong and snapped it.

Who is "They"? I thought you took the wheel bearing off yourself? Very confusing.

I think he took off the assembly himself and brought it to a machine shop for them to press out the old bearing and snapped his knuckle in the process.

OP. They need to make it right.

The machinist needs to be called Knucklehead from now on!

Check out the OP's Avatar. He was simply looking for some help with his wife's Honda, which by the way, your RDX is.

I'm still waiting for the new knuckle. It better not be a rusted piece of junk because I'm going to raise hell if it is.
I have a 1g rdx that has an annoying noise, like a tink off of metal when I drive I haven't been able to look at.

Seems like a long time to be waiting for the part, no? Why would it be rusted - are they getting a used one for you?
