Mods To My New RDX!
Hey RDX followers. Here are two recent mods, if you will, to my new RDX recently acquired on June 24th. This car (SUV) is so cool. But, my last two cars were Acura "Typs-S" models so I really missed having that "Type-S" symbol. Hence, why I added it. I think it looks pretty cool. See PIC below.
Also, I have had a K&N filter in all my cars since the 80's. So, gotta' do the same for the RDX as well! See pictures below of K&N install.
PS. The K&N filter is WAY WAY less restrictive than the stock OEM. Look at the THICKNESS of the stock compared to the K&N! If you blow with your mouth thru the K&N you can feel your breath come out the backside. If you blow into the stock filter your own breath blows right back into your face! Pretend you're blowing out candles. Put the stock filter in front of the candles, nothing will happen. With the K&N you will see a serious effect!

Then I got a CL 2003 Type-S! This car was insane! Great comfort, gobs of power, luxury to the max. It was basically a TL-S minus two doors and kick-ass. Negatives were it was heavy car (3500 lbs) and looooong! Barely fit in my garage. The 3.2 VTEC Type-S engine was insane and had gobs of power on throttle.
Whats funny is the CL felt HEAVIER than the RDX BUT the RDX is actually 500 lbs heavier at almost 4000 lbs!!! I swear, the SH-AWD, great power assit, and suspension of the RDX is so top notch to make it feel so good.

If someone actually took the time to look/research the history of what the "Type S" badging stands for, then yes flame away!

Well to each their own, however I agree I don't like putting a badge on a car that isn't suppose to be there. There are a few Mercedes in my town with an AMG badge that shouldn't be, like an S550 AMG, or the CLK350 AMG. But HEY what every floats your boat!

Seems just wrong to put a badge on your car indicating it is something that it isn't.

Thanks for all your opions guys. I'm having second thoughts about putting it on there now. But with it's (super glue) like stickiness I don't know if I could get it off without damage to the RDX finish.

I never understood why people put badges on their cars that don't come with it from the factory. Reminds me of the people who put the 'Type R' badge on the Integras that aren't Type R. If you want to do something cool paint the badges the same color as the car.

Carbon: How about just debadging? Don't worry about the stickiness.....use a blow dryer to make it warm (be careful not to melt the paint) and use either dental floss or a plastic putty knife. That is how I got mine off. That should shut everyone up here.

BTW-use Goof Off to remove adhesive residue.
I had to debadge because some idiot backed into my tailgate and took off. Rather than paying $$$ for the replacement badges, I opted to leave it "blank." Damage done was under my dedcutible.

Don't do it! You'll just get flamed out of this thread. Mind as well put a CRV badge to really throw people off.

I don't think anyone is flaming, just sharing their opinion. I personal don't like re-badgeing, for lack of a better term, but to each their own! Heck throw a Lamborghini Bull Emblem on their if it suits you!

im really neutral with all this....i just dont like it when people put stuff on their car, calling it something its not...u wana diferent type of Acura badge go ahead, but when its reallynot a type s, or an amg, or an M, etc, i do think its just kinda cheeeeeeeze
On my first accord 2 door....i replaced the H's with H's with the red background, it also matched coloring of my hub center caps so it all flowed color wise, it was tinted etc....not opposed to it, just either make it match or make it something that it really is not something its not.

All this badging talk has me thinking.
All I need to do is find a couple 2s, and debadge the whole back except the R and the D and then I will have R2D2 as my badge.
I win!
