extended warranty?

Has anybody purchased the extended warranty? Is this worth it?

I bought an RDX last week, and on the delivery day, they make you have a conversation with the sales manager. This includes negotiating about the financing, but also trying to sell an extended warranty. Even though I said no right away, he continued with the sales pitch. Eventually, he quoted what I believe is the lowest price for an extended warranty to 100,000 miles - about $1,012.

While it's nice to have the security, what would likely need to be repaired/replaced between the regular warranty and 100,000 miles that's NOT due to wear and tear?

$1k for an extension to 100k miles seems incredibly cheap. I would look closely at what is covered, are there deductibles, etc...

Normally I don't go for extended warranties. The warranty companies wouldn't be in business if they paid out more for repairs than they collect in premiums.

Geico provides an extended warranty on a car less than 90 days old for (me) and extra $85/year for 7 years of coverage. The dealer can do the repair, send the bill to Geico. (I have an FX35).

Sounds too good. I bought an extended for my MDX at 48K miles to last until 75K and I paid $900. Post more details and warranty code if you can. I;m still waiting in Ny for another 3 weeks for my Blk/Ebony Tech to be delivered. Best of luck.

For anybody who has purchased the extended warranty on previous Acura vehicles, can you share your experiences? Did you use it, and was it worth the price?

Is the coverage better than the standard warranty even during the first 50,000 miles, and what's NOT covered (other than the obvious wear/tear and accidents).

Thanks.

I believe there is a deductible for the GEICO extended warranty.

Is that price for an Acura Care extended coverage, or through a different company?
