I have a 2011 RDX which will not lock by remote. According to the manual (see below) this vehicle only checks doors/tailgate open and will refuse to lock if they are open.
But coincidentally, I recently cleaned the hood latch (I removed it) and lubricated, ensured micro switch open/closed etc with lever movement. I bent the switch lever a bit to increase travel (as recommended in another post). I thought I fixed a problem (random alarm triggers), but now coincidentally the car won't lock by remote.
Does this vehicle report which door/trunk/hood is ajar somewhere? Any way tell which switch is currently viewed as ajar (without back probing connectors).
Is there another possible reason the remote won't lock the vehicle (but it will unlock the vehicle)? Can someone confirm the car will lock even if the hood is open?
Ok - I can reproduce the door open message on screen, but sadly it does not indicate what source cause the alarm to trigger. So I may have to experiment.
It looks like the keyFOB has a problem with the LOCK button...which may explain my remote locking as a completely unrelated issue.
That screen should tell you which door is open - there is a separate little light for each door as well as the hatch. That pic above I just found on a quick search, but it's basically saying that only the driver's door is open.
