yes - this is with destination.

$33,200 before taxes, tags. Got the 4.9% financing as well.

Dealer made $260 profit on the car
Invoice: $33290
LESS Holdback: $998
Dealers Cost: $32291
PLUS Destination: $670
Sub-total $32,961 - this would be a "no profit deal"

What I paid: $33,220
Dealer profit: $260

I believe Holdback is 3% of the MSRP (not including destination). For an RDX with Tech Package this would be $36,495.00 - 3% of which is $1,094.85.

I thought it was 3% of base MSRP for acura? I used non-tech MSRP...oh well. I guess it depends on how "base" is defined. I took base to mean w/o options, ie, without tech package

That is a bit confusing ("Base") - but I do believe it means the Base Vehicle without extra dealer-installed accessories, etc. I *think* Base implies how the car is received by the dealer from Acura (if that makes sense).

In either case - you received an incredible deal! One that I am trying to leverage too !

Picked up our Nighthawk Black Pearl/Ebony with Tech Package from Norris Acura West in Ellicott City tonight. Thanks to the information on this forum, I was able to get them down to $33,000.00 (including destination - $990 below invoice). No trade-in.

We leased - here are the terms: 36 month, 12,000 miles/year, 57% residual, 0.00213 money factor (5.11% APR), wrapped in our sales tax of 5% (which must be paid up front in MD). Monthly payment of $521 and change.

Our sales person was Chris Heisel who was perfect. We were in/out of the Dealership in about 30 minutes. All in all, probably the best transaction we have had on a new car.

The drive home was excellent - I am super-excited! Now off to read the manuals ...

I am curious -- what made you take lease when the financing deal is more attractive over 36 months? Did you want to avoid the hassle of selling/trading the vehicle in three years? Or looking for lower monthly payments?

In general, I like to minimize the amount of $ wrapped up in any of our vehicles at any given time since it is a depreciating asset. I would like to believe that I can make our money work for us better in other ways.

We actually sell our leased vehicles outright at the end of the lease term. Because we tend to take pretty good care of our vehicles and stick with Hondas/Acuras, we tend to have positive equity at the end of the lease. We also tend to exceed the standard mileage requirements (again the penalties are avoided by selling the vehicle outright).

Are any of you paying admin fees on your RDX's? I was told that East Coast dealers can sell for under invoice because they jack the admin fees up. True?

Thumbs up

Thanks to the board, I just got my white tech for 33,300 including dest. charge with 4.9 financing as well. I used the numbers people were getting to go the internet offer route and it worked great. Spent a few hours and feel I got a great deal on the car and no hassle with the purchase. I am in the Houston area.

Is this the same as "processing fees". that is common in this area. most are around $200-300. When I deal though I always include that in my offer. Some dealers are real sticklers about that processing fee, but in my experience you can always get them to drop it if you really want them to.

Do you not have processing fees outside the east coast?

non tech price...

ordered my cg/ebony non tech for 200 under invoice..(29,900) or something like that...I believe the invoice is 30,100. No freebies thrown in but I think this was a fair price. They had to get the car from another dealer for the combo I wanted....(a little nervous about that but I told them no demo and I do trust the dealer)
Really like the CG/ebony a lot.
Extra fees were just ttl and a 25 dollar notary fee.

Wow - Some great deals being made. Congratulations everyone and welcome to RDX ownership. So far, I love mine, even though I haven't put a lot of miles on in the past month I owned it (only 750 miles so far).

Bauhaus - My deal had a fee attached to it too on the paper work, but it was deducted from my negoiated price. The dealer was very careful to make sure I understood that what I offered was the price I paid. I made certain during the negoiations that there were no additional fees. Everytime an offer came in, I went through it with the saleman saying exactly what was included and what was not.

Welcome Joanne and good luck with your negoitations. Read this site very carefully. It helped me a great deal to decide how much to offer and how to play the dealers against each other to get the best price. Worked great for me. Also check out www.carbuyingtips.com. It has a lot of great information on the whole process and has spreadsheets that will help you determine your offer. And please do not hestiate to ask questions on these Boards. Everyone here has been great about helping each other out. Jay

Live action negotiating. I love it. Good luck and don't let them bully you. Remember it is your money and they want it, but don't deserve it more than you do. Good luck. Jay

do this...

If you are at montclair acura tell them you will offer them 500 under invoice and you will buy the car before end of year. If not tell them you have some dealers who you will not name that will do that deal provided you buy by the end of the year.
I did have a dealer who would have done 700 under invoice...I would have had to travel out of state though.
I wound up paying 200 under invoice because my local dealer had to locate the car I wanted. I preferred to deal locally but would have went out of state if the price difference was more than 500.
Keep in mind...dealers get HUGE bonuses for meeting end of year quotas...way more than the piddly extra 500-1000 they are trying ot make off your deal.

Nice deal, Animagix, congrats on the new ride! My trade is a sticking point on my deal; looks like I'm gonna have to sell it private party to get anything decent from it.

Is that including the "Dealer Fee"? Or is that $33K plus Dealer Fee (around here its about $600 so it's a big factor)?

Thanks, and GREAT deal !!!

Hi WallaceS - I just double checked our paperwork, and there was an additional $99 processing fee (making our price actually $33,099.00).

Well here in Central Florida - the best I can do is $33800 plus Dealer fee $300 and dest fee 670. Total with TTL $37200k out the door so basically it is $34800 plus TTL - anyone can do any better here in FL?

Just bought an RDX in Los Angeles...here are my prices

Hello All,
Since this site helped me out in researching/buying my car, I'll pass the favor forward and give you my numbers.
I bought an RDX with technology package today (Grey Carbon/Black) from Keyes Van Nuys in the L.A. area (great salesguy named Arman, you should ask for him).
I got the following options:
Roof rack
Side moldings
Cargo net
Splash gaurds and wheel locks (they try to make these seem like options they are "throwing in" or try to calculate it on the price but ALL the RDX's already had both and some dealers weren't even considering it an option.)
I got it for $38,682 out the door (including ALL taxes/fees, options)
He said it would be $37,500 out the door without any of the options (except mud guards and and wheel locks).
It was $34,203.19 for the vehicle (Tech)
It was $1,182.90 for the options listed above
Document prep fee of $45.00
Sales tax of $2923.06
Optional DMV electronic filing fee of $28.00
License fees $282
Registration/transfer/titling fee $10
California tire fees $8.75
Giving a total of $38682.90
They offered me the same amount as Carmax did for my trade-in (2000 Honda Passport that's got a lot of miles)..they gave me $3000. This amount was exactly what the "Black book" said I would get. Forget the Blue Book, it's way off. Here is a link to the free use of the Black Book (http://www.powerdirect.com/index.?ac...anchiseID=2375)
And the great rates they have now till Jan 2nd are almost impossible to beat (4.9% for 60 months if FICO >710, 5.9% 60 mos if FICO 660-709 and 6.9% for 60 mos if FICO up to 609). And they only check Experian for your score, not all three.
There are 24 Acura dealers in a 100 mile radius to me (L.A.) and only 6 or 7 returned my e-mails. This was the lowest price out of the one's who actually gave me any number. Acura Alhambra was shady, they e-mailed me a figure of $38,255 out the door including all the options listed above, but when I called them from the Keyes dealership when I was going to walk out over a few hundred dollars to make sure they were going to honor that price, they said, "Oh, that's actually without the roof rack or cargo net, so it's another $800".
Hope this helps...with the current rates and the end of the year squeeze for the dealers, it's a great time to go. I love the car in the 8 hours I've had it.
Happy New Year

Thanks for the tips.
I had the same deal with no one returning emails. I went as far out as Riverside and South Orange County.

I'm working a deal in Glendale, if that does not pan out, I'll go back to Keyes. FWIW: The Planet Acura peole keep spamming me, and we have already determined that they do not have the combo I'm looking for.

See if this link to The Black Book works better:
http://www.powerdirect.com/index.?ac...on=tradeinform

Edit:
Like does not work for some reason, so:
Go to www.powerdirect.com
then click on "Reaserch Center" and run the online apprasial if you want to see your black book value.

Those wheels are $1950 list on the Acura website. I'm getting quotes around +/- $200 of invoice for a Tech RDX in Los Angeles.

Invoice= $33,960 + $200 (over inovice) + $1950 for the wheels =$36,110. I think that's a good deal if the price quoted includes the $670 destination charge. Not worth loosing sleep over.

I was wondering if they should offer you a credit back for the factory wheels? Do they keep them and get to sell them to someone else?

I went back to Keyes today and picked up a white tech. Different salesman than above, but the same story. They tried once or twice to hold for gross. I showed him the email from Planet Acura stating all 2007 RDX's are going to be sold at invoice this final weekend of the year, but the manager made one final try at $35,100, and I made it clear that I would be willing to drive to Downey (25 mi away) for the $1000 savings. He came back at $34,200 and we did the deal. The car already had the splash guards on it and the wheel locks and they would not remove them. On Hondacuraworld.com, the splash guards are $66 and the wheel locks are $35 - so I pretty much got the car at about $150 over invoice plus the 4.9% financing. Nice deal. Also - I got $500 over "black book" for my 2006 Ranger.

Keyes Acura is a super clean dealership. No pressure. My salesman (Ted) had been there 10 years! Super high volume dealer. They have a 3 story parking structure full of vehicles. They bake cookies in a small oven in the corner of the huge showroom, and it give it a real "homey" feel.

...

Good job - great deal. I haven't driven ours since we brought it home Thursday night - I am waiting to get a 3M Clear Bra installed, and don't want to risk any chips beforehand! Oh the pain of being borderline obsessive compulsive .

I was wondering the same thing.
The wheels that come with the RDX are 18" so these wheels require tire changes as well I presume? My assumption was that this is an "upgrade" and therefore the dealer keeps the old wheels and tires?

Ok, I discovered this over morning coffee.

In the finest print I've ever seen in the official RDX brochure there is a footnote that says "tires sold separately" so apparently I was wrong; this is not an "upgrade" and therefore the old wheels and tires remain yours to sell.

A friend recently bought a new car and Discount Tire made him a killer deal on new rims and tires, taking his new wheels and tires as trade. Perhaps I'll consider. I'm confident the larger wheels and lower-profile tires will improve street driving in TX weather.
