Care to share your mod plans?
I notice there is not much movement going on in terms of this forum and new products for RDX. Guess coz is winter? So what is everyone's mod plan as soon as those snow melted out of your drive way? I don't want to rice it but I really want to squeeze a little more out of this turbo and have a little more sporty ride and sound maybe some 19" or 20"? You know just so ppl can tell this is not an old man's ride.
So what's everyone's plan?
So what's everyone's plan?
Already added front spoiler, rear diffuser, Eibach springs, Hoen fog light bulbs, Phillips high beam bulbs, and factory 19".
Wanting:
Hondata reflash
Exhaust
CAI
The right 20" (maybe the RonJon Legend II's)

Hey!...Whats old?
Interesting how some people in this forum said my RDX was "ghetto" because I got the gold-lettering straight from my conservative Acura dealer (because I thought it would look good on red paint) but other people are putting on Dubs (if I understand correctly what those things are), new grilles, special exhaust pipes, removing "Acura" from the car's body, etc. etc. etc., a lot of it done by various "Pimp My Ride" vendors, but they aren't called "ghetto" and my car is? That's laughable.
To Blingin: What makes you think the RDX is an 'old man's' ride? At 54, I'm probably the oldest guy registered on this board. It seems to me 50% of the people posting on this board are, like you, in their 20s and 75-80% under 40. There is little about this vehicle right from the factory that would appeal to most "old men." I'd say the design, the speed capability and the technology package are unappealing to most guys 50 and over. A few us never grew up so we like it.

Gold on a car these days is 1990's and just out of style, i dont think it falls under the category of being ghetto. 24's is ghetto. a 20 inch rim on a truck with std 18 inchers and optional factory 19 inch is not a big deal at all. 20's, maybe 10 years ago might have been outrageous, but when you consider some cars ship with std 19's, 20 inches is nothing.
my plan is Vortex rims in the spring, maybe Hondata, already have the front/rear diffusers, runn boards etc. not much else is avail other than a spring kit to my knowledge. The smartest thing i did was wait on mods this summer, seeming that my 2007 was replaced and i didnt start dumping money into it.

The RDX wasn't designed to be that quite of an "old mans" car. Although, Acura does target the RDX to the audience in the 30's, but that doesn't mean that older people can't drive one and look good in it.
I probably won't fix this one up, since I promised myself not to mod this car and leave it the way it is. I am in search of a 99 M3 coupe, so that will be the new toy early next year.

ThePlainsmen: Being 40, I was the "old guy" in the VWVORTEX forum with my modded 2007 4-door GTI. I had a APR Stage 2 system which incl turbo downpipe, exhaust, intake, software, lowered, and 19" BBS CHs. Here, I feel a little closer to the target demographic.
I'd like to see more software choices and a downpipe. As for wheels, the biggest I will go is 19".

Well my 18 year old daughter was underwhelmed when she first saw my RDX. Apparently, it's not that appealing to teens. When she saw the gold lettering on the red paint, she said: "Okay, now that looks better." And, by the way, I've never owned a car with gold lettering so this was a first for her. It's the only thing she likes about the RDX's exterior looks.
I also own a 2007 Saturn Outlook XR, loaded. It cost more than the 2008 RDX. The average profile of buyers on that board is about ten years older than on this one, although there are quite a few young couples with small kids who didn't want a minivan but needed more than a five-seater in order to accomodate grandma and grandpa for the big family car trip.
I didn't think about age before I bought my RDX, but I admit to surprise at the high number of twentysomething people on this board. I only think about age when I see a Buick. Buicks are for old people.

I've had my 08 RDX tech for about 2 weeks now.
After a week, I had the mud guards installed. Dealer offered to install them for free... (Not really a mod)
Other not real mods that I want:
Roof rack
Hidden Hitch (with snowboard/bike attachment)
Running Boards
Real mods (Thinking of these maybe after driving a year stock):
19's or 20's
Front spoiler
Exhaust
Chip
Maybe intake (depending on performance)
Maybe new springs (really depends on ride... I wish I knew someone that had a dropped RDX to test drive)
Maybe change out the fogs
Double decker wing
A huge Powered by Acura sticker across the top of my windshield.
(maybe not the last two
)

No offense to other RDX drivers older than me. I mean whoever brought this car has good taste
but there are so many ppl where I live don't know what or y they are buying..... is like losing the character of this car. Think abt all that cool tech stuff, the handling the look... etc etc... I am sure whoever got on this forum who brought this car is a smart and cool guy.... but I was just trying to make quick point out the statment.
Hope onone took it too offensively.....

I've had my black RDX tech for just over a year now....Absolutely love the car!!! My mod list:
Just ordered the Acura roof rack thru the dealer.
Just purchased a Yakima Ski/Snowbaord attachment to go with the rack.
Spring '08 Hondata Re-Flash
If I get enough money saved in Summer '08 I'd like to get rims and drop it with springs and get a camber kit. cose25 has a sick looking ride! Props to you cose25 on a nicely modded car. I do have a little hesitation on what it might do to the ride. I like the way mine rides now and wouldn't want it too harsh. cose25 and JMJ3rd have had the Eibach's installed and I would love to here their point of views a little more in depth and how it handles and rides compared to stock. My rim of choice would be 20" Rays Master Piece Lug X10.

My plan is to find some way to soften the ride up. Maybe drop to 17's, or slightly increase the tire sidewall on the 18's. With the broken pavement around here, the ride can get a little jarring.
I'd also like to do the Hondata flash, but I'll wait for the first wave of brave folks to jump off the cliff and report back after a few months.
